Concept idea
Hitomètre & Climomètre: two gauges, one idea, and every pack counts
In a box break, the big card does not show up in every pack. The rest of the time, it is a “clim”, French collector slang for a pack with nothing in it: it leaves you cold, and chat sighs. The Hitomètre & Climomètre turns that around with two gauges and one simple rule: hit or clim, every pack pushes something up.

The idea in one minute
Here is the concept as it plays out live:
- 10 packs go on sale, starting at €1.
- Each pack is opened live, in front of chat.
- A big card? That is a hit: +1 on the Hitomètre.
- No hit? That is a clim: +1 on the Climomètre.
- Each gauge has its own tiers, and each tier unlocks a prize: the higher the gauge, the bigger the prize.
- At the end, you keep the highest prize reached on each gauge.
- One single winner, drawn from all buyers, takes those prizes home.
That is it. No long rulebook, no maths for chat: two gauges going up, and everyone sees at a glance where things stand.
Why it works: there is no bad pack anymore
A clim is usually a small letdown. Here it fills its own gauge and brings the next prize closer. A hit is still a thrill, and so is a clim: every opening matters, whatever comes out.
The tiers create big moments throughout the live, not only when the chase card lands. One clim away from the next tier? Chat starts hoping for… a clim. That is exactly what makes the concept fun.
Finally, the closing draw keeps everyone until the end: every buyer is in, whether they opened a hit or a clim. Nobody has a reason to leave before the last pack.
Under the hood: two gauges, nothing more
The Hitomètre & Climomètre needed no custom development. It runs on the HypeLayer gauge, a very simple widget: a value that goes up, and tiers to reach.
For each gauge, you choose:
- its name: “Hitomètre” on one side, “Climomètre” on the other;
- its tiers, up to ten, each with a label and an image: those are your prizes;
- its colours and direction, vertical or horizontal: fire for hits, ice for clims.
During the live, you add +1 to the right gauge from your control workspace, with the buyer’s username if you want it. Made a mistake? Undo the last entry.
The Multi-mètre template already places two gauges side by side, with a text that adds them up to show the packs opened (“7/10”). Personalise it, remove what you do not need, and your concept is ready.
The real ingredient: your imagination
A gauge does not know whether it counts hits or clims: you give it its meaning. The same widget becomes a whole different game as soon as you change the rule that moves it:
- Change what counts as a hit: a card above a certain price, an alternate art, the card your chat has been asking for for weeks.
- Team against team: chat splits into two camps, and every purchase moves its camp’s gauge.
- A dare gauge: at each tier, you take on a dare announced in advance.
- One gauge per set or per universe: up to eight meters in a single scene.
And it does not stop at gauges. Potion de survie combines a countdown, a counter and a text: a hospital monitor ticks down the time left, and every ingredient chat brings fills the potion that will save the patient. Three simple widgets, one story, and a live like no other.
Invent your concept in three questions
- What keeps happening in your live? A pack opened, a sale, a chat message.
- Which rule moves the counter? The simpler it is, the faster chat adopts it.
- What do you win along the way? Tiers, prizes, dares: something to reignite the tension at every step.
Once you have those three answers, all that is left is picking the widgets that put them on screen. As with any giveaway, announce the rules clearly before you start, and follow your platform’s rules.
