How to add an interactive overlay to a Voggt live stream with OBS

To add an interactive overlay to a Voggt live stream, you prepare a show in HypeLayer, paste its secure link into OBS as a browser source, then control your interactions while you are live. Here is every step.

What you need before you start

Access to the HypeLayer private beta.
OBS installed on your computer.
A Voggt account that can stream from OBS. Access conditions depend on Voggt: check your account before you prepare your live.

Step 1: prepare your show

Create a show in HypeLayer from a template, organize your scenes, then personalize them with your own images, videos and sounds.

Choose the format carefully when you create it, because it cannot be changed afterwards: 9:16 for a vertical live, 16:9 for a horizontal one.

Step 2: generate your OBS link

In HypeLayer, open the OBS source section and generate your OBS link. Keep it to yourself: it gives access to your overlay display. If you regenerate it, the old link stops working immediately.

Step 3: add the browser source in OBS

In OBS, add a “Browser” source to your scene.
Paste your HypeLayer link into the URL field.
Set the size to match your show: 1080 × 1920 in 9:16, or 1920 × 1080 in 16:9.
Check that the OBS canvas (Settings, Video) has the same format as your show.
Place the source above your camera in the source list.

Step 4: connect Voggt chat

The mechanics that read chat need no Voggt credentials. You only say which live to listen to:

Applause meter: paste the URL of your live Voggt show into the widget settings.
Chat triggers: add your Voggt profile link in the Stats section. HypeLayer finds your live from that profile while your show is live.

Step 5: go live and test

Set your show live in HypeLayer and activate the scene you want: interactions only run on the active scene of a live show. Trigger an interaction and check that it appears in the OBS preview before you open your live to the public.

If something does not work

Nothing shows in OBS: check the source URL. If you regenerated your link, paste the new one.
The overlay is cropped or stretched: compare the source size and the OBS canvas with your show’s format.
Interaction buttons are disabled: check that the show is live and the scene is active.
Chat is reported as unavailable: check that your Voggt show is live, then restart the round.
